Message from our President
Dear Members,
I hope you had a wonderful December and a Happy New year! Our December
meeting with former President of the Florida Teen-Age Republicans, Erika
Barger and the special music by area homeschoolers and the Children's
Academy of Fine Arts was such a blessing! It was a wonderful way to finish the
year.
2012 - the end of an ERROR! This new year will hopefully bring more members
to our club and a new resident at the White House!! In 2011 we kept our club
strong, finishing with 191 members (potential precinct walkers, phone callers
and sign wavers). Not only do we need volunteers who will help with the 2012
election - we also need volunteers to help with our club! With 191 members it
should be easy to get the help we need - but sadly the same handful of people
are doing the work. Specifically we need a Treasurer and several committee
chairs. You don't have to do it alone - grab a friend and do it together!
Iowa and New Hampshire Primaries and done - now it is on to South Carolina
and Florida! Michelle Bachman has dropped out and Rick Santorum has made
a surge. It seems like the political climate changes daily. One thing is for sure -
we cannot let petty differences divide our party (especially here at home). The
2012 election MUST unite us and I am not talking nationally, I am mean here in
Volusia county! Let's keep the main thing - the MAIN thing and that is getting
Obama OUT of the White House and taking back the senate! Our children and
grandchildren will judge this generation on what we do (or do not do) this year.
I hope you will attend the luncheon on January 27. Our speaker will be George
LeMieux, Candidate for US Senate. This is such an important race for the
Republican's to win - and this is another opportunity to hear from one of the
candidates.
Don't forget to renew your membership this year we have so many exciting things
to look forward to. All the best!
