Happy new year and happy holidays to each and everyone of you! My prayer for this season and to end this year is for health love and peace to abound. First in our hearts, next in our homes and communities and finally throughout the United States of America and the world. When I began this office as the president of the Atlantic federated Republican Women’s organization, I chose to focus on three primary objectives. One: to increase our age of our Membership from 80 to 200 members. Number two: to recognize and support our local female Republican business owners in Volusia county and three: to support our local veterans. In 2020, I added to Back the Blue, and unify our communities.
We have considerably surpassed our AFRW membership goal of 200 By 70 members! We currently stand at ending 2020 with approximately 240 members! Congratulations ladies on an exceptional job! With respect to veteran support, we have had a community bridge march, nearly every month,( except for Covid March through June 2020 ) and many Marches for Trump 2020 campaign support events! Regarding our female republican business owner awards, The AFRW honored Coco Do of Kizcoco Spa and Nails. To finish out the year 2020 and my term, I will honor the following AFRW Businesses:
Sonia Mori of State Farm insurance, Robin Faber of CMG Pro Security, Gina DiGiovanni of Bluebird Interiors, Shelly Olsen Of Olsen Homes, Kathy Smith of Cruise Planners Get Up and Go2, Jeanne Burden of the Write Student, and Jamie Yeoman of Jamie Bijoux Yeoman's Gems.
I would like to thank Kathy Smith for all of her unwavering support of me, as the AFRW intern president, through this most difficult year of my life. I have the upmost confidence, excitement and pride for Kathy Smith as our newly elected of AFRW president and the new AFRW executive board of directors for 2021 through 2023. I look forward to supporting Kathy and the new board as they continue our mission to support President Trump and all Republican candidates. We must be unwavering in our patriotic support and encouragement of conservative values. Let’s work hard and support strong professional political organizations and who support the AFRW, the FFRW, and the NFRW. We must continue to work in unity with all local Republican clubs and be supportive of the Republican executive committee of Volusia County. As we close out 2020, with bittersweet memories of an unforgettable year, we look forward to 2021 with hope, courage, strength of character and wisdom, to fight for justice and hold accountable the injustices, with honesty, class, and humility of spirit.
Finally, I want to thank my late husband, Todd Phillips, for always encouraging me to be brave and to strive to higher standards with my personal and professional goals. I want to thank my three children, Tiffany, Britney, and Cole for their unwavering love and support through this most challenging year of our lives. I love you all endlessly.
As I step forth in my political role as a newly elected Republican state committee woman, I thank you again for your vote and your support. I look forward to serving each of you in this capacity and I thank you for the privilege to have served you as the president of the Atlantic Federation Republican Women, 2019 - 2020.
In faithful service,
Debbie Phillips AFRW
